Personal experience

In 2016, a close relation of mine was diagnosed with cancer. This led me to gain first-hand experience of being a carer for a loved one.
I was able to encourage the most suitable techniques, promote independence and reduce the risk of falls.
I felt privileged to have been able to share my knowledge and expertise, particularly with falls prevention.
This experience led me to see a need for an independent Occupational Therapy service specialising in falls prevention and reablement in Leicestershire.
